9 day yatra was organized for 40 Brahm-charis to the sacred spots of Sri Jagannath Puri, Alarnath, NilaMadhav, Jajhpur, Bhadrak, Remuna&Bubhneswar from 16 Jan – 24 Jan. It was a much awaited retreat after a 2 month marathon of Bhagawat Gita distribution. Trip was lead by HH Bhakti AshrayVaisnava Swami Maharaj and HG Rukmini Krishna Pr. Trip included dramas, discourses, sankirtans and preaching programs.
Devotees at ISKCON Punjabi Bagh distributed 200,000 Bhagawat Gita to commemorate Gita Jayanti festival in the month of Dec and January. The message of Bhagawat Gita is universal and can effectively address all the problems of today’s world like stress, hunger, pollution, conflicts, suicides, terrorism, corruption, depression, etc.
31st Dec Program: To commemorate the arrival of new year as per English calendar, a special spiritual program was organized at ISKCON Punjabi Bagh, which consisted of talk by senior devotees, 5 performances by Hare Krishna Sunday School’s kids, A Musical performance and a drama. More than 1000 devotees participated in the program.
HH Bhakti Madhurya Govinda Maharaja’s Appearance Day celebrations: 4th Dec, 2017 ISKCON Punjabi Bagh To express their gratitude and Joy in having his association here, devotee community of Punjabi Bagh came together to observe the appearance day celebrations of Maharaja.
Program consisted of Invocation, Welcoming, Offerings by various devotees, cake cutting,video memories & Feast. Maharaja is one of the first 100 disciples of Srila Prabhupada and is based from last 12 years at ISKCON Punjabi Bagh.
A camp of 50 youths from various engineering colleges like IIT, NIT, etc was organized at Jaganath Puri from 21-27th Dec
This is place of special spiritual and historic significance, esp for all Gaudiya Vaisnava. The purpose of the camp was to lay the foundation of strong character among youths through education, devotion and culture.
30th November 2017, Mokshda Ekadashi, also celebrated as Gita Jayanti. This was the day on which Sanjaya narrated the dialogue between Sri Krishna and Arjuna, to King Dhritarashtra, and thus made the glorious teachings of the Lord available to us, to all the people of the world, and for all time. ISKCON Punjabi Bagh celebrated the event with great fervor in temple with Mahayagya in morning starting from 8am onwards and group recitation of entire Bhagawad Gita. The entire atmosphere was surcharged with the holy chants and auspicious sloka recitation.
To kindle the spirit and zest for upcoming Gita Marathon, ISKCON Punjabi Bagh organized7 marathon Vyuha programs, between 5th Nov to 12th Nov. The classes were taken by HH Bhakti Madhurya Govind Goswami Maharaj. His Holiness discussed about the connection of Audarya bhav of Lord Chaitanya and book distribution. He also explained about the different techniques of book distribution.
These seminars were attended by approx. 1000 devotees and they took a pledge of distributing 2 lakh Bhagavad Gita.
Hare Krishna Sunday School organized a Diya Painting competition on 29th Oct, Sunday at ISKCON Punjabi Bagh for children in age group 5-13. The idea behind the event was inspired by “Offering one’s best to Lord” or spirit of devotion.
Almost 100 students participated in the competition. Selecting top 3 in junior and senior categories was really challenging among so many well painted diyas.
The event was concluded with a short address from HG Rukmini Krishna Pr.
