The ISKCON girls forum, Punjabi Bagh is an apt example of how feminism can be practiced within ISKCON. IGF comprises of over 60 members categorised into 7 Bhakti Vrikshas (groups for spiritual education and cultivation) coming from diverse backgrounds. The members of this forum are epitomes of how a girl can perfect balance household duties, spiritual life and a career. It is a platform that helps individuals grow, it takes care of each members' needs, interests and concerns and helps them develop into confident, strong hearted young women.
IGF, since its conception has significantly contributed to the temple by serving in various roles, recently in the Hare Krishna school! Amongst its activities are- Conducting 7 day sessions for interested and curious young minds, Namhatta seminars on enticing topics like- Faith can move mountains, Be a warrior not a worrier, Add life to your lifestyle to name a few. The members of igf are multi talented and harbour their expertise such as creativity, theatre and cooking by putting up Cooking stalls, handicraft stalls, movie stalls, games stalls, Gopi dots stall and many more! They distribute over 10 thousand Bhagavad Gitas every year during the Marathon month.
They are active members of the Punjabi Bagh community and constantly engage in preaching, book distribution and expanding the numbers of the community.
