1984 was the year, when this temple began as a small and humble place where a few people visited to take darshan of Sri SriRadha Radhika Raman Ji and Jagannath Baladeva Subhadra Maharani ji. With time, the wings of this small temple spread under the guidance of HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, a disciple of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and on July 15, 2005, emerged a larger place, for the number of followers and activities of ISKCON Punjabi Bagh had increased. ISKCON Founder Acarya His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada always desired to establish the deities of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram in Delhi. Fulfilling the desires of Srila Prabhupada, under the guidance of HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, the deities of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram were installed on the auspicious occasion of Radhastami in September 2007. This feat gave the temple the special status of being the ONLY Krishna Balaram temple in Delhi. Henceforth, the temple became one of the most popular temples in West Delhi! Why? Well, the exquisite beauty of The ISKCON Punjabi Bagh deities is such that it attracts people from all over the world. Once you have taken the darshan, you are imprinted with something so blissful within that you all be drawn back to them in a week. Besides this, the temple is extremely popular for its melodious and soothing kirtan, thought provoking lectures by some brilliant scholars, energetic singing and dancing during all famous festivals and not to forget the delicious and scrumptious Prasadam. ISKCON Punjabi Bagh is one of the most active preaching centers of Vedic Education and Culture in the whole world, taking care of thousands connected to the temple, providing the public with ISKCON Youth Forum, ISKCON Girls Forum, ISKCON Children Forum, and Congregational Programs. ISKCON Punjabi Bagh also focuses on spiritual satsangs and programs to transform many prisoners, for ISKCON believes in hating the sin and not the sinner. Regular Sankirtans, Rath Yatras and House programs aim at creating an auspicious environment for the benefit of the people of Delhi, simultaneously transmitting God Consciousness by propagating the sweet holy names of the lord.
