A tribute to Padarenu Prabhu – we miss you!

During the night of 13th June, HG Padarenu Prabhu – a beloved devotee and brahmachari at ISKCON Punjabi Bagh left his body in the most auspicious manner. At the time of his departure, he was surrounded by devotees chanting the holy names of the Lord, with Srila Prabhupada’s chanting tape playing beside him, a lamination of Lord Nrsimhadeva placed near his head, and sacred items like Lord Jagannath’s Ratha-yatra rope and Nrsimha oil placed around him. Pada Renu Prabhu came to Krishna consciousness in 2008 and joined the ISKCON Punjabi Bagh brahmachari ashram in 2016.

A qualified electrical engineer by profession, he took full charge of the temple’s electrical department, serving tirelessly behind the scenes with utmost humility and a deep sense of responsibility. He was a dedicated book distributor, an active participant in sankirtan, and would enthusiastically assist in deity services. Every single day, he would be present in the temple by Mangala Arati, lovingly showing arati lamps to all assembled devotees. He was disciplined in his sadhana—rising early, chanting his rounds with focus, and regularly studying Srimad Bhagavatam. In 2018, he was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent a successful surgery at AIIMS in 2019, although it left him with partial hearing loss.

In 2025, the tumour returned in a more critical region. He underwent another surgery at AIIMS about a month ago and had been recovering in the hospital before his final departure. We humbly pray to Their Lordships to grant him eternal shelter at Srila Prabhupada’s lotus feet and bless him with continued service in the spiritual world.
