After more than a decade, the altar of Sri Sri Radha Radhika Raman, Sri Sri Krsna Balaram and Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadari Maharani at ISKCON Punjabi Bagh is undergoing major renovation. As part of the process, the deities have been moved to a temporary space within the hall on the left side of the altar.
While renovation of the altar will take a few weeks, devotees at the temple are relishing the opportunity to have darshans of the deities up close. The original altar is separated from the devotee hall by a couple of metres and is at an elevation. However the makeshift altar is right within a hand’s reach of the devotees and at the eye level.
This is serving as a great opportunity for more and more devotees to visit more often and look at the forms of the lordships in even more detail. The renovation is also an opportunity for many devotees to donate and contribute in the construction of the rooms for their lordships.
