Celebrating the most magnanimous fiesta

This year’s Gaura Purnima celebrations at the ISKCON Punjabi Bagh temple were no different from previous years – joyous, blissful and absorbing. The day at the temple started with the enriching lecture by His Holiness Bhakti Brihad Bhagawatam Swami Maharaj, followed by continuous Kirtans by several Kirtan parties through the day. In the evening Gaura Nitai’s abhishek was followed by grand darshans of the lordships Sri Sri Krsna Balarama, Sri Sri Radha Radhika Raman and Sri Jagannath, Sri Baldev and Srimati Subhadara Maharani.

They looked enchanting in their green floral and flowing garments. Next to the temple premises a cultural program was organised by the stage play team of the temple. The team enacted the pastime of Chand Kazi and his deliverance by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Over 10000 visitors are estimated to have joined the celebrations, and over 5000 were served prasadam
