ISKCON Punjabi Bagh’s initiative to help tribal devotee communities

ISKCON Punjabi Bagh recently organized a collection camp where it invited all members of the devotee community to donate their old clothes. These clothes were aggregated and then sent over to the ISKCON Tribal Care Trust which operates actively in the North Eastern states. A total of 1.5 tons (1500 KG) of clothing was dispatched to 3 hubs in Kolkata, Agartala, and Purulia. From these hubs, clothes have been further dispatched to 14 centres of the ISKCON Tribal Care Trust spread over North East India. These clothes including many warm woollens are being distributed to remote tribal communities where means are limited and help is scarce. Along with clothes, 14 sound amplifiers were also sent to each of the tribal care centres. These amplifiers are a generous donation from a well-wishing devotee. This is only the beginning of a collective initiative by the ISKCON Punjabi Bagh community, which they aim to grow sustainably over the coming years.
