Hare Krsna Maharaj,
Please accept my humble obeisances,

I remember that once around in 2013/14 you addressed our Bhaktivriksa group. We were all asked to give a very powerful reception when you arrive and also flower garland you. But being very new to Krsna Consciousness, we could barely receive you in an appropriate manner; indeed, not of the kind befitting a senior sannyasi as yourself. We all realized this almost immediately, and this made us all quite uncomfortable. But being a perfect Vaisnava, you saw the better side and our good intentions and said, “I give you all an A grade for your enthusiasm !”. This practically pumped life back into all of us who otherwise were feeling quite ashamed and embarrassed.

Your loving attitude to devotees was, however, not the cost of proper behavior and conduct. Once you visited the Ahmedabad temple and I happened to be there. I attended your Bhagvatam class and later that day went up to your room for laundry service. You immediately caught hold of me and said, “where are your neck-beads? I do not see them”. And Maharaj, once you decide to preach someone on Krsna Katha, you are beyond any considerations of time and space. That very moment you told me about the importance of neck-beads and other aspects of Krsna Consciousness for no less than 2-3 hours. The next day you had to leave for some other place. I went straight to temple authorities and narrated the whole incident and without any further delay they put Tulasi neck beads around my neck and remarked, “you should be very thankful to Maharaj, he saved your life”. I shall never forget that day of mild chastisement.

But Maharaj, I cherish you the most for your Bhagvatam classes. Not only could you speak spontaneously on very delicate spiritual dealings outlined in Caitanya Caritamrta, but also, if need be for the audience, dramatically depict and verbally mimic the various episodes from Srimad Bhagavatam. I am very sure that anyone who has attended your lectures will definitely not be at odds with me on this point.

Maharaj, now that you have disappeared, it is quite painful and a moment filled with anxiety as to who will guard us in our Krsna Consciousness. But as Bhaktivinod Thakur says, which you have several times re-iterated in your lectures, “he reasons ill who thinks a Vaisnav dies”. Please continue to shower your blessings and support.

Your servant,
– Mohit
