The annual yatra (15th – 17th Oct)

ISKCON Youth Forum of Punjabi Bagh temple organized its annual trip for youth to Jaipur for 3 days. This is an annual event where the boys are taken for a 2-3 days retreat at a place near Delhi/NCR. The highlight of the trip was darshans of most beautiful lordships – Sri Sri Radha Govind Dev, Sri Sri Radha Gopinath, Sri Radha Damodar and Sri Radha Vinodi Lal. These deities are most special as these are the original deities which were served by the Six Goswamis in Vrindavan and were later on shifted to Jaipur as Muslim rulers attacked and plundered Vrindavan.

Another interesting aspect of the yatra was visiting the great Amer Fort, where in the youth were shown the rich cultural heritage of India and were educated on how the great kings such as Raja Jai Singh used to treat deities, like for example he had built Kanak Vrindavan specially for deities. The youth were also taken to Jantar Mantar for enabling them to develop some understanding and appreciation for Vedic Science. The camp was attended by about 125 students and was appreciated by all as a very fulfilling, educative and devotional experience
