The food & Life (Lifestyle for Environment) conference as part of the Civil-20 held on the 25th and 26th of April 2023, at the Govardhan Ecovillage of Palghar, Maharashtra. This conference is part of India’s G20 Presidency initiatives. The event offered a constructive dialogue between various verticals of the For-Profit & Not-for-Profit ecosystems including Government ministers, Civil society organisations, Celebrities, Bureaucrats, Ambassadors & Envoys, Media, Grassroot personnel, and multilateral institutions to achieve policy-level recommendations and best practices for the entire world to adopt to live a socially responsible life.
ISKCON Punjabi Bagh had put up an exhibit regarding their key initiative Value Education Olympiad which aims at educating and integrating values for school children across the globe for environmental concerns.
The exhibit was a display of an overall understanding regarding the program. It depicted
1. How ISKCON works collaboratively with various stakeholders, Government and Private not just to have a wonderful outreach but also to make an impact on each child’s life with ISKCON ‘s philosophy as a faith based organisation under UN Environment Program
2. The exhibit depicted a documentation of last year’s award ceremony, student’s initiatives for environmental concerns, comparative statistics for last three years.
3. This exhibit channelised the inquisitive enquiries and made a complete understanding of how the program can bring change in attitudes and behaviours of students
4. It also depicted the student based initiatives in a project form wherein students ideated newer thoughts as solutions for some environment problems
This exhibit reiterated the need for value based education and youth who will channelise better steps for sustainable living.
